The 2022 club calendar has been started. It is one list at this point with club and other events listed chronologically so that it is easy to plug in things as we learn about/plan them. It will be separated into club and other after Jan. 1. If you have suggestions or ideas, bring them to the club. We will be doing the Derby party, chili cook off and Oaktoberfest events at RRR again this year.
Fat Saturday pics are up on the website, provided by Sandy B. There were 10 riders, mostly new faces for this event. The email list is being updated for 2022. If you do not renew you will be dropped by Feb. Christmas boxes will be delivered the week of Dec 13. Snack items are needed, please get them to Jo or Connie by Sunday Dec.12. We don't have much donated and will be doing 2 boxes. The tack swap went well. Five reserved vendors did not show up but 5 unexpected ones did for a total of 67 spots. The Christmas party was a success with ~60 people attending. There was good food, fun games and visiting with acquaintances and friends. It was great to see Buster there. Debbie Vaughan took pictures of the event and of all attendees. Suggestions for next year include have it catered, have music like a band, have it at Otsego park. The State OHC membership meeting is available on Facebook if anyone is interested. Go to the Ohio Horseman's Council facebook page and look for the recorded sessions - I think there's 6. Jan 22 at Pettisville, Das Essen Haus is tentative, Jack will be checking on availability. Feb. 20 at Firepit Grill is being considered. Suggestions are welcome. A bus trip to a rodeo in Mar. was suggested as an activity - Hat Creek Arena, or Owosso MI, or Shipshewana were suggested. We will be looking into this. Jack provided Buster's address for Christmas cards. Get your trail miles in to Jo by the Jan. meeting which will be JANUARY 10. 2022 is the 50th for OHC and celebratory events are planned for throughout the year. There is also apparel with the 50th logo which can be ordered through state OHC. If ordered now, it can be picked up at the Jan. 16 meeting in Delaware to avoid shipping. If interested, contact Jack. Mike Gentry spoke about a fellowship weekend that will be on the third weekend in January at the Berlin Grand Hotel in Amish country. 19 members and guests attended at Bunkers Bar & Grill.
